Non-Invasive Treatments
Skin Peels
We offer three professional peels because different skin concerns require different strengths and formulations. The right peel depends on your skin, your goals and your lifestyle.
About the Treatment
Why We Offer Three Different Peels
Skin peels — also known as chemical peels — use carefully selected acids and active ingredients to exfoliate the skin's outer layers, stimulate cell renewal and reveal a fresher, smoother complexion beneath. Unlike physical exfoliants, they work at a deeper level, addressing concerns that surface-level treatments cannot reach.
We offer three professional peels because no single peel is right for every patient. A superficial peel that works well for mild congestion and dullness is unlikely to make a meaningful difference to deep pigmentation or acne scarring. Equally, a medium-depth peel is unnecessary — and carries more downtime — for someone who simply wants a brighter, more refreshed complexion.
During your consultation, Lisa will assess your skin concerns, skin type, sensitivity and lifestyle before recommending the most appropriate option. If she believes a different treatment would produce a better result than a chemical peel, she will explain why.

Our Treatments
Our Three Peels
The Perfect Peel
Our premium medical-grade medium-depth peel for full skin rejuvenation.
The Perfect Peel is our most comprehensive peel. It is a medical-grade medium-depth treatment designed for patients with more significant skin concerns — particularly pigmentation, acne scarring, melasma and the visible signs of ageing. It works at a deeper level than superficial peels, targeting both surface damage and the underlying skin structure.
How it works
The formulation stimulates fibroblast activity, increases collagen and elastin production and accelerates cellular turnover. This combination addresses not just the appearance of the skin but the structural changes that cause it to look aged, uneven or damaged.
Key ingredients
Best for
- Ageing skin
- Pigmentation
- Acne
- Acne scarring
- Melasma
- Sun damage
- Enlarged pores
- Loss of firmness
Typical results
- Brighter, more even skin tone
- Improved texture and smoothness
- Better firmness and elasticity
- Clearer, refined pores
- Reduced pigmentation
Downtime
Expect visible peeling and some redness over several days following treatment. Most patients take 5–7 days before their skin settles. This is a normal part of the renewal process, not a complication.
Obagi Blue Skin Peel
A professional-strength peel designed to improve tone, clarity and texture.
The Obagi Blue Peel is a well-established professional peel that sits between a superficial and a light-medium depth treatment. It is a good option for patients who want more than a basic superficial peel but are not ready for — or do not need — the commitment of a medium-depth treatment.
How it works
The peel removes dead skin cells, encourages healthy cell regeneration and improves brightness and smoothness. The distinctive blue tint helps Lisa apply the solution evenly and monitor coverage during treatment.
Best for
- Pigmentation
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Mild acne
- Fine lines
- Congested skin
Typical results
- Brighter, clearer complexion
- More even skin tone
- Improved texture and smoothness
Downtime
Most patients experience minimal to mild flaking for a few days. You can usually return to normal activities the same day, though some patients prefer to allow a day or two for any initial redness to settle.
Fire & Ice Resurfacing Peel
A resurfacing treatment combining exfoliation with calming and hydration.
The Fire & Ice Resurfacing Peel is a two-phase treatment that combines active resurfacing with immediate calming and hydration. It is one of our most accessible peels — suitable for patients who want a noticeable improvement with little or no downtime.
How it works
The treatment works in two phases. The 'fire' phase resurfaces the skin and stimulates circulation. The 'ice' phase reduces inflammation and restores hydration. Together, they leave the skin looking smoother, clearer and healthier without the recovery period associated with deeper peels.
Best for
- Congested skin
- Fine lines
- Uneven texture
- Dull or tired skin
Typical results
- Smoother skin texture
- Refined pores
- Immediate healthy glow
Downtime
Little or no downtime. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Some mild redness may be present for a few hours.
Understanding the Treatment
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
A chemical peel works by applying a carefully controlled acid solution to the skin. This breaks down the bonds that hold dead and damaged skin cells together, allowing them to shed and revealing the newer, healthier skin beneath.
The depth of the peel — superficial, light-medium or medium — determines how far into the skin the active ingredients penetrate. Superficial peels work on the outermost layer (the epidermis), improving brightness, texture and mild pigmentation. Medium-depth peels reach into the upper dermis, stimulating collagen production and addressing more significant concerns such as deeper pigmentation, acne scarring and loss of firmness.
After a peel, the skin goes through a natural renewal process. New skin cells migrate to the surface, collagen production increases and the complexion gradually improves over the following weeks. For medium-depth peels, this process involves visible peeling — which is a normal and expected part of the treatment, not a sign that something has gone wrong.
Some concerns — particularly pigmentation and acne scarring — respond better to a course of treatments rather than a single session. This is because each peel builds on the last, progressively improving the skin's structure and tone. We will always advise on the realistic number of sessions needed for your specific concerns.
Our Approach
How We Choose the Right Peel
We do not simply recommend the strongest peel or the most expensive option. Lisa assesses each patient individually and recommends the treatment she genuinely believes is most appropriate for their skin.
Skin concerns
What you want to improve and how significant those concerns are.
Skin type
Whether your skin is oily, dry, combination or sensitive, and how it has responded to treatments in the past.
Skin sensitivity
Some skin types are more prone to irritation or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which affects peel selection.
Medical history
Certain medications and conditions affect peel suitability. We ask about these before recommending treatment.
Current skincare routine
What you are already using at home, including any active ingredients such as retinol or vitamin C.
Desired downtime
If you cannot take time away from work or social commitments, we will recommend a peel that fits your lifestyle.
Treatment goals
Whether you are looking for a one-off refresh or a longer-term improvement programme.
Consultation fee
Consultations cost £20, which is deducted from the cost of treatment if you decide to go ahead. If you decide not to proceed, the consultation fee is non-refundable as it covers Lisa's time, assessment and professional advice.
Honest Advice
Who May Not Benefit as Much from a Skin Peel?
Chemical peels are not always the best first step, and we think it is important to be honest about this. The following patients may not get the results they are hoping for — not because they are unsuitable for treatment, but because other factors are likely to limit the outcome.
Patients with unrealistic expectations
A single peel will not resolve long-standing skin concerns. Significant improvements in pigmentation or scarring typically require a course of treatments alongside a consistent skincare routine.
Patients without a basic skincare routine
Professional treatments work best when the skin is already being supported at home. If you are not cleansing, moisturising and using SPF regularly, addressing those habits first will often produce better long-term results than jumping straight to a peel.
Patients who do not use SPF regularly
Sun protection is essential after a peel — and before one. If you are not currently using SPF daily, pigmentation in particular is likely to return quickly after treatment.
Patients expecting one treatment to solve everything
Skin concerns that have developed over years rarely resolve in a single session. We will always give you a realistic picture of what to expect and how many treatments are likely to be needed.
This does not mean these patients are unsuitable for treatment. It means that optimising their skincare routine first — and having realistic expectations — will produce significantly better long-term results. We would rather tell you this at consultation than take your money for a treatment that is unlikely to deliver what you are hoping for.
Being Transparent
What Chemical Peels Cannot Do
We believe in being honest about what any treatment can and cannot achieve. Chemical peels are effective for a wide range of concerns, but they have limitations.
Significant skin laxity
Chemical peels cannot tighten significantly loose or sagging skin. For this, treatments such as HIFU or radiofrequency may be more appropriate.
Deep acne scars
Shallow post-acne marks and mild scarring can respond well to peels. Deeper, pitted or ice-pick scars often require combination treatments — such as microneedling or laser — for meaningful improvement.
Stubborn pigmentation
Pigmentation — particularly melasma — can be persistent and may require several treatments alongside consistent sun protection. Results vary between individuals and some types of pigmentation are more resistant to treatment than others.
Guaranteed results
Results vary between individuals depending on skin type, the concern being treated, aftercare and lifestyle factors. We will give you a realistic expectation at consultation rather than promise outcomes we cannot guarantee.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a skin peel hurt?
Most patients experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during treatment, particularly with the Perfect Peel and Obagi Blue Peel. The Fire & Ice Peel is generally very comfortable. Any discomfort is brief and settles quickly. We will talk you through what to expect before we begin.
Will my skin actually peel?
It depends on the peel. The Perfect Peel causes visible peeling over several days — this is a normal and expected part of the treatment. The Obagi Blue Peel may cause mild flaking. The Fire & Ice Peel typically causes little or no visible peeling. We will always tell you what to expect before your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your skin concerns and the peel used. For mild concerns, one or two sessions may be sufficient. For pigmentation, acne scarring or more significant ageing, a course of treatments is usually recommended. We will advise on a realistic protocol at your consultation.
Can I wear makeup afterwards?
After the Fire & Ice Peel or Obagi Blue Peel, you can usually apply mineral makeup the following day. After the Perfect Peel, we recommend avoiding makeup until the skin has fully healed — typically 5–7 days. We will provide specific aftercare guidance after your treatment.
Is there any downtime?
The Fire & Ice Peel has little or no downtime. The Obagi Blue Peel may cause mild flaking for a few days. The Perfect Peel involves visible peeling and some redness for 5–7 days. If downtime is a concern, we will recommend a peel that fits your lifestyle.
Can men have chemical peels?
Yes. Chemical peels are equally suitable for men and women. Men often present with concerns such as sun damage, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores — all of which respond well to peels. The same assessment and aftercare advice applies.
Which peel would you recommend for pigmentation?
For significant pigmentation — particularly melasma or sun damage — the Perfect Peel is usually the most effective option, as it contains kojic acid and glutathione alongside TCA, which specifically target melanin production. For milder pigmentation or uneven tone, the Obagi Blue Peel may be sufficient. Lisa will assess your skin and advise at consultation.
Which peel is best before a special event?
If you have an event coming up, the Fire & Ice Peel is the most suitable option — it delivers an immediate glow with little or no downtime. We would not recommend the Perfect Peel or Obagi Blue Peel close to an event, as both involve some degree of peeling or flaking. Ideally, allow at least 2–3 weeks between any peel and an important occasion.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Book a Consultation
Every person's skin is different, and there is not a single treatment that is best for everyone. If you are unsure whether a chemical peel is right for you — or which peel would be most appropriate — a consultation with Lisa is the best place to start.
During the consultation, Lisa will assess your skin, discuss your goals and explain the pros and cons of the available treatments. If she believes another treatment — or a combination of treatments — would produce a better result than a chemical peel, she will explain why.
Our goal is to recommend the treatment that is genuinely most appropriate for your skin, not simply the treatment you initially enquired about.
Consultations cost £20, which is deducted from the cost of treatment if you decide to go ahead. If you decide not to proceed, the consultation fee is non-refundable as it covers Lisa's time, assessment and professional advice.
